Soaring Rainbow

Soaring Rainbow is an original oil pastel drawing. Although I didn’t draw this with the Macaw in mind it does look very similar. The bright colours really work together to create a strong portrait, especially against the purple background.

This drawing wasn’t necessarily inspired by anything but this year I’ve really been trying to challenge myself to take a step out of my comfort zone and play with different subjects. So that’s how this one came about, I think this took about 3 hours, a lot of stress and pulling my hair out over how I was going to pull this off but I stand corrected for my first animal portrait this really boosted the confidence in pursuing my challenge.
